LATE GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS STATE LEXINGTON Ky August 1C There was con ¬ siderable activity at the Kentucky Jockey Club track this morning A number of the older horses in the plater division were worked in preparation for the races at the colored fair which is to open Monday it the trotting track Others were being made ready for the Blue Grass Fair which will occupy the first week in September Others still arc getting ready for the regular season of racing on the Kentucky circuit which is to begin here Sep ¬ tember 13 and then after the older horses were off the main track a number of the yearlings which have been broken here since July 1 were given their exercise exerciseFour Four horses arrived here from Canada this morn ¬ ing Charley Brown the former steeplechase rider brought the fiveyearold Statim and a twoyear old by Ballot while J Freer of Toronto brought two of It J Mackenzies for J D Adkins They are Xenmer hr c 2 by Aniner son of Florizel II Guinea Hen by Gallinule Mary Zena dam of Messenger Boy by Farandole and a yearling bay colt by Uncle Saintolat dam of Royce Rools Adkius is again training the Mackenzie horses He has Somewhere in France Picdra Bucklaide and Powder Flask twoyearold halfsister to Royce Rools which were shipped here from the east two weeks ago and they arc in good condition bodily Adkins also has of his own Woodpile and Uimter inunu inunuDan Dan T Morris has been instructed by Waldo I Johnson to have J Walker castrated and fired and to turn him out until next spring springJohn John Galluher today wired his brother Allan that he is leaving Saratoga for Lexington with Regalo Old McKenna Sewei1 Combs Catania Bourbon Lad Kinhurii nnd Keep John M Goode thl morning worked three year ¬ ling fillies au eighth Of a niil together in 11 the hairsister to Happy Valley beating the other two by a head and n neck W Fry of Louisville as a visitor at the track today He js looking for twoyearold to rave
