MILTON WINS ELGIN AUTOMOBILE RACE ELGIN, 111., August 23. Tom Milton, driving a Dusenberg special, won the seventh annual Elgin automobile race today by a wide margin. Roscoe slirles, in a Koamer special, was second, and Kurt Jilke, in a Roamrr special, was third. Milton, by winning the midwest classic over the treacherous course of 301, miles 410 feet, came jnto possession of the Cobc trophy for one year and receives a cash prize of ,000. Ralph Mulford, who reentered the race after his Dusenberg car failed, finished fourth, driving the Philbrin special for Ira Vail. Miltons time was 4:01:17, an average of 73.5 miles an hourt . i i I i i , : i
