Won easily: second and third driving. PURL displayed the most speed and, making the pace fast, drew away in the stretch and won easing up. FAISAN DORE was hard ridden all the way and. slipping through on the inside in the homestretch, outstayed AVHO CAKES in the linal drive. The latter raced forwardly from the start, but tired in the final eighth. CARLINE S. ran a good race. BL7CKIIOKN II. closed a big gap. COCK O THE ROOST was takwi extremely wide all the way. MAN O AVAR followed UPSET in the early rjinning under slight restraint, took the lead at his riders leisure and drew away in the stretch to win easing up through the last sixteenth. UPSET began with a clear lead and raced on the outside of the leaders for the first half, then moved up gamely when called on, but could never overtake the winner. BLAZES was hard ridden all the way. and, holding on gamely, outstayed KING THRUSH. The latter moved up rapidly while rounding the far turn into third place, but was forced wide on the stretch turn and could never recover. PEACE PENNANT began slowly, but saved ground on all the turns and closed a big gap. EAEKGAY quit after going a good half mile. HASTEN OX raced wide all the way. ROULEAU met with interference. CUDGEL, well ridden, was saved behind the leaders on the outside clear of interference, drew away rapidly when called on in the stretch and won by a safe margin. STAR MASTER saved ground on all turns and, finishing gamely under punishment, passed EXTERMINATOR in the last eighth. The latter set a fast pace and was taken back on the stretch turn, then came again under punishment, but could not get to the leaders. SUN BRIAR, hard held for the first three-quarters, slipped .through on the turn out of the backstretch add drew away into a two-lengths lead, but tired badly when challenged. MILLRACE worked her way up on the inside steadily and closed a big gap. JAMES raced under restraint all the way. MOTOR COP showed the most early speed under slight restraint, but tired badly in the last eighth and probably was short. BASIL ran out all the way. GRUXDY could never get up.
