MANY HORSES ON THE WAY TO CUBA Consignments from New York, Karyland and Kentucky Leave for Winter Racing at Havana. PIMLICO, Md., November 5. Judging by the number and quality of horses that are being shipped to Cuba, the predictions made that the meeting at Oriental Park this coming winter would be a banner one seem likely to be fully realized. A number of the best thoroughbreds destined for winter racing which participated at the Kentucky meetings have already been shipped to Havana. They left on two big specials a few days back. Four carloads were sent direct to Havana from New York. One carload made up of the stable of Senor A. H. Diaz left Laurel about ten days ago and a nine-horse special pulled out of Laurel for Cuba on Tuesday. Senor Diaz string includes the stake winners Grays-shin, Orestes and other good ones. The New York consignment was made up of the stables of C. K. Moore, with Bettit Bluff, Grundy, Cromwell, Harlem Boy, Marion Hollins and others. W. B. Dailey with Trophy, Ambassador III., Babylonian, Track Star; Larry Waterbury with Right Angle and Sycamoor. J. Bodei4 with four. W. Niehouse, .1. .1. Moore, R. L. Bresler. W. McLaughlin, and the Curb Stable with Bally, Peasant, Allele and eight others. Tin? Waterbury stable and .Tames liodeu shipped n dozen more between them from Pimlico, and A. J. Goldsborough will probably send Biff Bang and a few others some time next week. The Laurel special which left on Tuesday comprised nine carloads. There were seventy-four horses in the consignment, made up of the stables of Hal Kennedy, G. M. Ridge, C. Reed, J. C. Mays, W. Hitkman, E. Everest. Capt. W. .7. Press, J. Hig-ginbottoin, B. J. Albright, W. Mitchell, T. Crist, F. W. Boughsman, J . W. Moore, Harry Herdel, G. W. Mizell, Clarence Merrit, Stuart Polk, W. W. Springer, B B. Rice, L. W. Brown, W. C. Daly, J. J. MeCafferty, W- Short. J. M. Stowe, J. T. Strite. II. Herron and Harvey Bowen. The special pulled out at 2 oclock and is due to arrive in Havana Saturday morning. The train goes direct to the gates of Oriental Park and will unload on the chute in the backstretch. Another special will leave at the conclusion of the Pimlico meeting, and W. W. Lyles and Dr. Ashe are at the course every day j making reservations for horsemen who may wish to ship.
