ENTRIES IN A FUTURE GREAT -RACE Great List Representing the Most Fashionable Lines of Breeding of the Present Time. The Latoiiia Championship Stakes of 1921 received a total of 32S nominations in which 109 stallions are represented, of which Durbar, Negofol, Sunstar, Son in Law, Heliotrope, Fairy King, Sir Martin. Aleppo, Picton, Cicero, St. Amant, Sundridge, Tracery, Bowman, The Tetrarcli and Sardanapale are standing in England or France. Domestic sires best represented are Celt, with eighteen sons and- daughters; Uncle, fifteen; Ballot and Wrack, fourteen each; Light Brigade and Ormondale, ten each; Ul-timus, nine; Broomstick and Friar Rock, eight each; Vulcain, Marathon and Luke McLuke, seven each; Star Shoot, Zeus and Heno, six each; Peter Pan, Handsel, Dick Fihnell and Sweep, five each. Celebrities with lesser numbers are Fair Play, Great Britain, Jim Gaffney, Ben Brush, Black Toney, Everett, Harmonicon, Polymelian,- COlin, Last Coin, Helmet, Huon II., Magic, Dick Welles, Sain. Plaudit, Short Grass, King James, Disguise and Whisk Broom II. . W. E. Applegate has but one nomination, but that one is a half-brother to Jack Hare Jr. August Belmont has two, of which the brown colt, All Hours, is a brother to the famous Hourless. The other is a son of Negofol and his -fine marc, Quclle Est Belle, which in 1912 won for him the Prix de Diana French Oaks. O. A. Bianchis Jim Gaffney Viola B. filly is a sister to Lucky B. Among E. R. Bradleys seven is a bay filly bv Sunstar Dreamy, consequently a half-sister to the Crack War Cloud. Hal Price Headleys eleven arc mostly by Uncle and the filly by Uncle Xarco is a sister to Motor -Con. If she can run as fast as he can, she will make a stir in racing when her time comes. James F. Johnsons Quincy Stable is responsible for a band of seventeen- richly-bred colts, one of which is a brother to this years champion Man o War. Curiosity will follow the development of this one. The 0,000 Friar Rock is represented by three sons. Willis Sharpe Kilmer has thirteen in. One of them Sunbrae is a brother to the speedy Sun Briar. Another is Luke McLukes brother. His young English stallion,- Magic, is. represented by four. George J. Long has eight cutrics, four of which arc by Sain. If one of them turns out to be of the class of .tack Atkin or Nealon Mr. Longs friends will rejoice with him. From England Sir. John Robinson entered a half-brother to Omar Khayyam in the gray colt by The Tetrarcli Lisma. The Short Grass Stud Farm entry includes a 4rother to Sunbonnct in the, colt by Sunstar Marion Hood, and E. F. Sims entered a half- 1 brother to War Pennant in the bay colt by McGce Maltha. Others closely related to other racing celebrities crop up frequently in the big list of nominations. Quite a number of those entered by breeders passed into other ownership in the course cf the Saratoga sales, including all but one of those which sold for 0,000 or more. Thus the 5,000 Sunstar Marion Hood colt, 3,003 Ballot Starry Night colt and the 1,000 Short Grass Ellangowan colt became the property of J. K L. Ross, the 1,500 Ultimus Tsarina colt was taken by yr. X. Thravcs, the 22,500 Celt Sand Dune colt fell to Phil T. Chinn, and W- H. Karrick bought the 5,000 Celt-Patricia IV. colt. That these costly yearlings are among the possibilities of the race is one: of its items of interest perceivable now.. The following entries Closed Tuesday, July 1, 1919, with 323 nominations; K. I.
