BALTIMORE, Md., November 5; Only at Saratoga and in the famous Futurity Stakes is seen such a field of two-year-olds as is carded to start in the Walden Stakes at Pimlico tomorrow. The presence of the great Man o War is all that is needed to give, the race a championship aspect. For certainly aside from Mr. Riddles champion and probably one or two othersy, the best of the juveniles of the year are named for this valuable race. Commander. Ross is represented by the two high-class fillies Constancy and His Choice, while S. C. Hildreth will rely on hi; speedy colt Dominique, which has won six races in eight starts, finishing second and third in the other two attempts. Dominique is a colt possessed of remarkable speed, but there: is doubt that he cannot maintain it successfully for a mile, the distance of the Walden. G. W. Loft holds a strong hand in On Watch and Dcmnaeona. Tlie former, probably the best :horse jet sent, to-the -races by the unbeaten Colin, did not display his real form until this fall, when he won four straight races, including three stake features, from high-class- opposition and in a manner suggesting a -racer , of exceptional merit. His -stable companion, Donnacona, is a highly considered English-bred colt by the,,famous English race horse and sire Prince Palatine and the noted marc Kildonan. -His owner and trainer entertain high hopes, of. seeing Donnacona develop into one of the best three-year-olds; of next year. Constancy, is best of her sex in the juvenile division,, and her racing credentials give her respectful consideration in any company. It. F. Carman has a formidable opponent for the best of them in Carmandale, a colt of his own breeding, and one that will improve as he grows older. The Whitney hopes in this race are centered in the good filly Cobwebs and the All Gold colt Damask, both smashing good youngsters. . W. R. Coes silks will bo carried by the Star Shoot colt David Harum, one. that raced well this fall oyer the New York tracks and particularly formidible over and heavy track. With such sterling racers engaged, patrons of.
