ORMONDAS EXCELLENT RACE Speedy Filly Leads All the Way in the Hanover Handicap. L 1 T. Francis Scores a Double With Lord Herbert and Bolster in Final Races of Day. BOWIE, Md., November 24. Showing a high flight of speed :it stages, William Slie.as filly Onnonda ruptured the Hanover Handicap, the feature of the good card at lrince George Park this afternoon. Jockey Johnson sent the Superman filly into tins lead at once and, although she was closely pressed by Duchess Lace all through the stretch run, she retained a half length margin to the end. The Miller- filly was always in closest pursuit of tile winner, but was not iuite good enough, Ballet Dancer II. easily disposed of the others in the run home. The weather conditions were again most favorable, the track fast and the attendance large. After being shuffled back at the first turn, Pastoral Swain made up the lost ground gradually and ran away from the leaders to an easy victory in the Advance Purse, the fifth race. Pen Hose suffered in n similar manner, but came through fast on the inside In the stretch to get second place from Knot. The latter, well up throughout, showed in front in the stretch, but weakened under pressure. Turf was bumped at the first turn and MeCabe was un-peated. The English-bred colt Link Boy led from start to finish in the maiden dash that openend the days sport. W. It. Coes Lady Archie was highly regarded in the race, hut failed badly. 5. W. Formuns Penelope Tan to her recent good form and easily accounted for the second, in which she was a heavily supported favorite. T. Francis furnished the winner of the sixth and seventh races, Lord Herbert accounting for the mile and an eighth dash, while Bolster was first home in the final race of the afternoon. Jockey L. Morris rode both winners. Poultney ruled favorite over the bulky band of platers which made up the field in the third race and he rewarded his backers by romping home the easiest kind of a winner. The three-year-old Clean Gone had a high temperature this morning, which caused his withdrawal from the fourth race today. Jockey Ensor was overcome with cramps before the. running of the third race, in which he was posted-as the rider of Kingling II. Jockey Simpson wad then substituted. leorge Odom claimed Poultney for ,500 for the Hrookside Stable after his victory in the third race. G. W. Format! claimed Orlando of Havana out of the same race for the same amount. W. Garth boosted Penelope 000 over her entered price of 2,000 after her victory in the second race, hut owner Forman protected the filly. Jockey MeCabe was removed to a hospital after his fall from Turf. It is feared some bones are broken. A
