COMING RACERS AT NAPA STOCK FARM Seventeen Sucklings Now Roamim the Sprccklcs Ranch Thirteen of Which Are Runnymedes BY F L McKENNEY McKENNEYSAN SAN FRANCISCO Cal July 14 Seventeen sucklings of the wellknit sturdy type and having the finality possessed only by the highclass thor ¬ oughbred make up the latest output at A B Spreckcls Napa Stock Farm Next year there should be quite a substantial increase in the num ¬ ber of foals as thirtyone mares were bred in the spring Aiming the arrivals at the big stud establishment this year are brothers and sisters of rafe horses that have won on the tracks of the United States ami Canada The Voter stallion Riinnyniede is represented by thirteen foals Dr Leggo the stakewinning son of Puryear 1 and Sevens by three foals and the Solitaire II horse Vqorhees by one As Rnnnymede is a chestnut and quite n number of tiie matrons at Napa Stock Farm arc of the same color the chestnuts predominate among the colts and fillies there beiiig ten of that coat Of the otiier seven five arc bays one a brown and one a black blackThe The first foal a remarkably trim filly by Run iiymede Emhla by Solitaire II arrived January 21 while the last of the band similarly bred a chestnut filly by Runnyniede Armenia by Soli ¬ taire II put in an appearance April 29 On ac ¬ count of the mild climate out this way foaling is perfectly safe in the early months of the year Armenia dam of the last foal is highly regarded as she is by Solitaire a successful brood marc sire and also because she is from the AAatcrcress mare Sevens dam of Dr Leggo LeggoIll Ill the breeding season just closed eighteen mares were mated with Runnymede eight with Vcorhees and five with Dr Leggo Daughters of Star Shoot Solitaire the Salvator horse Salvation and other proved sires were bred Voorhees and Dr Leggo have long had reputations as sires of good winners and Uiinnymcdc lias come to the front rank witli a rush All of the progeny of the Voter horse that raced Avon lust year and this year he has the enviable record of sending six twoyearold winners to the races His third crop now yearlings at the farm promise to develop into winners in the best of company companyThe The breeding of the foals not heretofore pub ¬ lished in Daily Racing Form is here given givenBrown Brown filly by Dr Leggo Coma by Soli ¬ taire II IIBay Bay colt by Dr Leggo Princess Alma by Soli taire II IIChestnut Chestnut filly by Rnnnymede Nanna by Pur year D DChestnut Chestnut filly by Runnymede Armenia by Soli ¬ taire II
