Won driving; second and third the same. MARY ERU, favored by the going, began slowly, but gradually improved her position on the extreme outside and, finishing fast and gamely, outstayed MAVOURNEEN in the final drive. The latter set the early pace and was shullled back, then moved up gamely and, overcoming interference when entering the homestretch, took the lead, but tired in the final strides. LIGHT FANTASTIC made up ground and finished fast. WANATAII and COCA COLA showed speed, but quit. WEDGWOOD, DANCING MAID. FAIR GAIN, after being restrained behind the leaders until catering the homestretch, raced into a long lead and won in a canter. BIFF BANG! lacked early speed, but closed up steadily in the last half mile in the center of the track and finished with a rush. SWEET MUSIC was a forward contender all the way. ST. ALLAN, taken back in the early running, saved ground when entering the stretch, but finished in the deepest going and tired. PENELOPE retired after going well for three-quarters. CAPTAIN HERSIILER and FAISAN DORE were eased up in the last eighth. BLAZES, in the best going all the way, laced up to tin; leaders on the far turn, but could never get to the front and had no mishaps. KREWER and SENNINGS PARK dropped back in the stretch drive. The latter began slowly, but raced in the best going throughout and closed a big gap.
