Won driving; second and third the same. TEN BUTTONS held on gamely when the final drive came and outstayed MAIDENS BALLET. The latter was hard ridden for the entire race and took the lead at the eighth post, but was crowded, by the winner and tired in the closing strides. Claim of foul was lodged, but dismissed. MAVEHONA gradually improved her position in the last quarter and easily outstayed the others. CHATEAU THIERRY showed speed for the first half mile. Won easily; second and third driving. CAPT. ALCOCK, running in vastly improved form and showing extreme speed for the going, took a quick lead and, setting a great pace, won all the way. SWEET MUSIC was a forward contender throughout, saved ground when entering the stretch and held on gamely- in the final drive. LA RABLEE, under restraint to the last eighth, closed up gamely when called on and outstayed YUNG CHING. The latter raced in nearest pursuit of the leader in the early running, but came wide when entering the stretch and tired in the closing strides. 15AYARD finished well.
