DONCASTERS NOTABLE SALE All Records Broken for Prices 272 Yearlings Average ,055 John Sanford Buys Two High-Priced Ones. LONDON. England. September 13. The Friday sales at Doncaster brought out more remarkable prices and closed the weeks sales. In the four days 272 yearlings were sold for over ,250,000, with an average of ,035 a most remarkable one, and some 50,000 in excess of the yield from any sale in Mils, or any other country. Fridays transactions numbered sixty-eight, which sold for 41,321, an average of 1920.sh,490. Mr. John Sanford, who has invested heavily in yearlings in the past, bought two high-priced youngsters Friday. They were: Colt, by Bachelors Double Golden Harp, foaled ill 1914, by Llangibby Goldscleugh. 7,500, and colt, by "filmstar Vera Cruz, foaled in 1913, by Farlman Rosalie, 0,000. Both the Sanford purchases sail from Liverpool for New York September 17. The other high-priced sales of Friday were: Colt, by Tracery Port Sunlight, foaled in 1917. by Sundridge "Wife of BaUi; Mr. Shepherd 7,000 Colt, by Hoi Herode Urania, foaled in 1910. by Desmond Beautys Daughter; Mr. Baa-ley ; 37,500 Colt, by Polymelus Fortnna. foaled in 1910, by Spearmint Ishallah: II. Persse 27,500 Colt, bv Bachelors Double Adalia. foaled in 1900, by Gallinule Self Sacrifice; C. Hntry 25,500 Colt, by Spearmint Snoot, foaled in 1901, by Perigord X. R. A.; Boyd Rothfort 22,000 The Spearmfnt Snoot colt is a half brother to Caligula, which won the St. Leger so handsomely last "Wednesday.
