CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Treacy and Walker of Lexington. Ky., have sold the three-year-old bay filly Terrible Susan, by Ivan the Terrible Brooch, by Cheviot, to A. S. Lillard. Raymond Smith of Lexixngton, Ky., has sold to Simon M. Fallahay the bay two-year-ohl colt Jinglespur, by Luke Cates Laura Martin, by Fer-nandino. The Crack English three-year-old Allenby hoper lessly broke down in the running of the St. Leger at Doncaster September 8. He had to be taken from the running ground on a float. Tlie stable boys at the Parisian suburban courses of Chantilly and Maisons Laffitte were again on s.trike for an increase of wages and privileges a few days ago. As usual, the rebellion ended in a compromise, and the boys are again at work. Recently in Northern France Brittany a race of 20O miles 320 kilometers has been arranged. The distance is to be covered on tlie Finistare Department roads within five days and is solely to demonstrate the endurance of Breton-bred horses. The greatest crowd ever on an English race course except Epsom, which gathers nearly n million on its spacious freejJiDowns, assembled to see the St. Leger run at Doncaster September 8. An indication of the immensity of the attendance was the fact that 100,000 programs had been sold and the supply exhausted one hour before racing begnn.
