LATONIA, Ky.. October 22. George W. Lofts Tippity Witchet scored his second failure during his sojurn here when he followed Jack Hare Jr. home in the three-quarters purse race, whici. featured todays card. Tippity Witchet was a. pronounced favorite, but, unlike on his previous essay, he was beaten on his merits, for Jack Hare Jr. showed the speed from the start and won with speed to spare. Tippity Witchet raced close with the leaders, but failed to come with the rush he displayed in his last race, and for a time had hard work in overhauling Rapid Day, which had been Closest in pursuit of Jack Hare Jr. In the . last sixteenth he bumped Rapid Day and it enabled him to draw clear. Rapid Day tired near the end and Blushing Beauty got up in the last stride for third place. A two-year-old handicap for a purse -of ,200 was the outstanding race from the monetary view, and it resulted In victory for George J. Longs Sir Lawnfal, over Napoo and Bunga Buck. The winner was guilty of impeding Bunga Buck and the latter in turn interfered with Napoo, but the finish found .Sir Lawfal well in- advance, with Napoo recovering -fatsfcnongh-to- outstay Bnnga Buck at the end. Earlier Sir Lawnfal; had-sufferedV from interference, but he came around the others after being straightened out in the stretch. Jockey Wida complained to the stewards of Sir Lawnfals interference and as the stewards bad noted the occurrence they suspended jockey Kennedy for the remainder of "the meeting for rough riding. The mile ami a quarter dash proved an easy affair for Wadsworths Last, which won as his rider elected after drawing away from the others in the last quarter. Constantlne finished- in second place and Sol Gilsey third. La Foudre, which had been well regarded, had her chances destroyed when she stumbled badly in the stretch. Romance was victorious in the maiden dash,, in which a dozen two-year-old fillies started. She led all the way and easily beat home Lady Champ, which prior to the start unseated her-rider, but-ran a game race.. . A thrilling finish came with the running of the sixth race, in which Dodge, after leading most of the way, just managed to win by a neck. Rifle suffered when he tried to come through on the stretch turn, but managed to get up in time to outstay Dr. Carmen for second place. -Sands of Pleasure was only a neck in back, with slight distances Intervening between Matinee Idol and Dancing Spray, the other starters. Luke Dillon, winner of lie Military Handicap Thursday, has been accepted by the Remount Bureau inspectors and will be shipped to one of the governments numerous breeding depots shortly.
