CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Mr. A. K. Macombers Terminal, ch. c, 3, by Dorrlt Gare du Nord, won the Prix de Juvisy, 500 added, one and one-half miles, at St. Cloud. France, September 27, in 2:35. The winner was trained by W. Duke and bred by the late Mr. W. K, Vonderbilt. Mataro, which was sold to W. M. Mills for ,250 after winning a recent selling race at Warwick, England, prior to his sale enjoyed the distinction of being the most numerously owned horse in England, no fewer than ten partners having each a one-tenth Whare in him. It is said a new horsemens association is being formed in Kentucky. A contention among the owners and breeders has arisen, which has brought about the new nssociation, as it is the claim of the horsemen that the breeders have taken possession of the present organization. It has been the contention of breeding experts for some time that the dead Star Shoot would prove a Valuable broodmare sire. This was proved last Saturday, when four of the winners at Laurel, Md. Careful, Blazes, Goldine and American Eagle are all frorij mares by Star Shoot. M. Jean Joubert, the well-known French owner and breeder of bloodstock, and a member of the Racing Committee and the Stud Book Commission, 1 has-been made an officer of the Legion of Honor. M Alexandre Aumont, also a breeder and owner, das been made a knight of the order.
