OFFER SOLUTION TO PURSE PROBLEM LATONIA, Ky., October 27. The Thoroughbred Horse Association, through G. H. Keene, made the New Orleans Business Mens Racing Association a , proposition today which may solve the difficulties over the purse question at that point. Mr. Keene offered to give the racing association a net profit of 5,0J0 for the Fair Grounds meeting, the horsemen agreeing to subscribe that sum in advance, on condition that the association give ,000 purses and a feature race of ,500 daily. If the profits run above 5,000 the amount is to be divided among the charities of New Orleans. B. C- McLel-lan, president of the association, said that he was ready to accept such a proposition for himself, but could not vouch for the board of directors action, while believing that they would accept such terms. Already horsemen at Latoniahave agreed to subscribe for 0,000.
