LATONIA, Ky., October 27. Cold weather, coupled -with a prospect of more rain, 111 not seem to Jiavo any marked effect in causing a reduction in the attendance, despite that the card as a whole was in keeping with conditions and lacked any outstanding feature. The racing developed better sport than was expected and some of the finishes were clone and interesting. Few surprises developed, though favorites were beaten in. a .majority of the races, the longest-priced winner coming with the decision of the fourth race, in which Colonel Baker scored by a margin of ihcbeR oyer Sir Thomas Kean after a strenuous last sixteenth drive. Rising Rock and Coyne were given the preference here, but after they had raced, in the van until reaching the stretch they both gave way, Rising Rock barely lpsting for third place. The. three-quarters dash, in which some highly regarded sprinters met, proved no contest, for Minute Man raced into a long lead at the start and increased his advantage with every stride, ultimately to win away off ufe his rider pleased.
