GOLDEN DREAMS showed the most speed to the last eighth, Where she began to tire. COZETTE closed a gap and finished gamely. ROMANCE ran well to the stretch and tired. STONE was outpaced in the early running, but moved up fast just before reaching the homestretch and drew out in the last eighth to win easing up. HARLOCK disposed of NEBRASKA in the first three-quarters, but had to be ridden hard in the last eighth to outstay RIR. The latter vas forced back on the stretch turn and lost ground by coming wide, but finished well. NEBRASKA set the early pace, but tired in the stretch. CAPTAIN BURNS quit. TAYLOR in the last eighth to win going away. The latter showed extreme speed for the first half and finished gamely. STERLING was going fast at. the .end. MINUTE MAN ran much below his true form and quit. JACK HARE JR. was forced wide, on the stretch turn and quit badly. It was not a truly-run race. Overweights Col. Taylor, 1 pound; Sterling, 1.
