DERBY CANDIDATES REACH LEXINGTON LEXINGTONLEXINGTON LEXINGTON Ky April 20 The State Racing Commission will meet here Friday morning to grant lienses to trainers and jockeys and to transact other business preliminary to the opening of the spring racing season on Saturday Usually the commission has met on the first racing day of the year for such transactions but it invariably re ¬ sulted tlat everybody was in a rush to get thioiigh with natters incidental to the meeting in time for the beginning of the sport at the course This vtar all of the preliminaries will have been dis ¬ posed of before the opening openingSix Six horses from the Lexington stable owned by E F Simms and Henry Oliver came over from Louisville this morning and are in quarters at the Kentucky Jockey Club track under the eyes of Jnncs W McClelland and trainer Kim Patterson The six aie the Kentucky Derby pair Leonardo II and l lon on Homme Ite fouryearolds Eternal and The Wanderer and the twoyearolds Bengalese and Sweipy The horse all appear in the pink of tnmlitioi Messrs MrClelliuul and Patterson will divide their time letwcen L yington and Churchill D Divns ivns until tlif fl is of the pieeting here hereJohn John Lowe also came over from Louisville today with twelve horses including a division of the Kd ward trainingWilliam Cebrian stable which he is training William Dondas who came from Latonia yester ¬ day with the apprentice rider H Field and a couple of horses this morning went over to Louis ¬ ville on business connected with the meeting of eight days that is to oi en at Omaha Neb June 2 Dondas will have charge of the parimutucN at I ho Omaha meeting meetingGeneral General manager Matt T Whin arrived today to remain until the close of the meeting Idward Jasper entry clerk came in last night and was on his job in secretary W H Shelleys office today
