BOTAFOGQS CHOSEN PROGENY Argentine Champions Best Colt and Filly for English and French Stakes LONDON England April 10 There has bcei shipped from Buenos A ires Balazo a colt by Bota fogo Shooting Star which is to race in England for his breeders Messrs Itenito VHlanuera and M A Martinez de Hoz At the same time Tijuca a filly by Botafogo Blair Royal is being shipped to France where she will run for her owner Mr Diego Lczica Alvcar It is understood that both these horses have been entered in the principal classic races to be run in England and France during the coming seasons The sire of this colt and filly is by Old Man from the American mare Korea Old Man is by Orbit and Botafogo is therefore a direct descendant of Stockwell through Doncaster and Bend Or Botafogo is by far the best horse that has ever raced in the Argentine He accounted for the principal classics and was only beaten once by Ginger Fox when not in the best condition His races were all Avon in run ¬ away fashion and it is expected that his progeny will be successful on the course
