SARATOGA PREPARING FOR CHASES NEW YORK N Y May 12 Racing Secretary Earlocker of the Saratoga Association for the Im ¬ provement of the Breed of Horses announces a list of tha stakes for steeplechasers which will be run at tin Saratoga meeting in August They are four in number headed by the Saratoga Steeplechase Handicap which is for fouryearolds and over over the two and a half miles course This nice has an added value of 5000 and will take rank among tho l ost offerings for all the timber toppers All of the other features are for threeyearolds an1 over They are the North American Steeplechase Handicap with 2000 added at about two miles the Beverwyck Steeplechase Handicap 2000 added at about two miles and the Shillclah Steeplechase Handicap 2000 added at altout two miles milesAs As the Saratoga course is a fine one and then is no place where a greater degree of interet is taken in the jumpers a bumper list of nominations may be confidently expected for these events which uru due to close on May 28
