Won easily; second and third driving. DARE followed FORESTALL in closest pursuit until straightened oUt in the stretch, then responded quickly when called on and won going away. FORESTALL set a fast pace to the stretch, but tired and gave way when challenged. BUMPETY BUMPS was hard ridden all the way and raced gamely. OVERRAN ran and finished well. SOME BABY finished fast and- outstayed PASTORAL SWAIN in the final drive. PASTORAL SWAIN saved ground on the backstretch turn and when entering the homestretch, but tired at the end. BLACKIE DAW tired after making a threatening- move at the eighth post. OLD CHAP got caught in the webbing when the barrier was sprung. LOUIS ran poorly. Overweights Old Chap, 3 pounds. The latter was much used in chasing SMART GUY and racing into the lead and tired when challenged by the winner. LADY MEAVE was taken up at the start, but came through the stretch with a rush and wis going fastest of all at the end. SMART GUY quit after setting a fast pace to the stretch.
