MUCH ACTIVITY AT SARATOGA Large Number of Horses Seen Under Saddle-Turfmen, Horses and Jockeys Arriving Daily. SARATOGA SPRINGS, X. Y., July 25. There was more activity at the local race track today than at any time since the meeting closed last cummer and a large number of horses were set down for good work-outs both on the main and the Oklahoma training courses. Track superintendent Claire scraped the main track Saturday morning and it was almost a full second faster today than it was last week. Numerous arrivals from various parts of the country, most of them from Xew York, helped swell the crowd here today and every train is expected to bring its full quota from now on until next Sunday. The advance guard up to the present is not as largo as in previous years, due to the fact that most of the regulars are remaining at Empire City until the last minute. Many more will start for Saratoga at the end of the Kcnilworth meeting. E. R. Bradley spent Sunday and today here looking over his horses, which are in charge of trainer William Hurley. He departed for AVindsor louight. where he will remain to witness the decision of the 0,000 stake "on Saturday next at Devonshire in which Black Servant will carry his colors. The four Bradley horses in Canada in care of trainer H. J. Thompson will be shipped hero Saturday night. Trainer J. C. Milam arrived by automobile from Kentucky. The Montfort Jones and J. N. Camden horses, which he trains, have been here for ten days. Jockey Mack Garner, who will ride for the Jones Stable at Saratoga, also during the Kentucky autumn meetings, left for Latonia last night upon the receipt of a message stating that a ten-pound baby girl was born at his home yesterday morning. He will return in time for the opening of the meeting. Jockey L. Elisor arrived from New York today and jockey Harry Lunsford got in from Kentucky. Exterminator and Our Flag, after their brief campaigns in Kentucky and Canada, were brought here with the J. K. L. Ross horses in charge of trainer Henry McDaniel. They have joined the remainder of the AVillis Sharpe Kilmer string under the care or Will McDaniel. Jockey A. Claver accompanied the Commander Ross stable here and will be its chief rider during the meeting. There were twelve horses in the Ross consignment. Trainer AVill AVallace brought one division of the Nalapa Farm Stable from Empire City and Kim Patterson is expected in with the main band in a few days. Jockey Cliff Robinson, who is on his honeymoon in Cincinnati, will rejoin this establishment here later in the week.
