The international three-year-old stake race, tile Prix Eugene Adam, worth 100,000 franc and at 2,000 meters, was run for at Maisous Lafitte yesterday before a moderate crowd on fair footing and in stifling heat, which was affecting in every way. The annoying Britisli didnt win this one, though one of their riding experts, Stephen Donoghue. was on the winners back. The race was won by Captain J. I. Cohus Guorricre II. by a half length in a hard, driving finish, in which jockeyship counted. Guerriere II. is a bay colt by Aerwood Guerroyante ami won HS.OOO francs and three of his five races last year. Among his 1920 races Guerriere II. won the Annual at Maisons Lafitte and the Omnium and Frisky Matrons Stakes at Le Tremblay and was third in the Grand Cri-tcrium and Morny. He is a good colt and goes at once to Deauville, the meeting of which opens next Friday. In the Eugene Adam M. Bousaes Durzetta, by Durbar Frizette Harpe, was second, and La Iro-dige, by Prestige Philosophy Allemand, owned by the Aigentine turfman E. Martinez de Hoz, was third, by one length. Eugene Leigh, the American trainer, is in health again and at work. Last week he claimed Trafalgar, by Spanish Prince. The colt, ridden by the American jockey AVinkfield, won again today. Experience, a Prince Palatine filly, ran an extra good second and will improve. It was her first start. Trainer AVillinni Duke uncovered a good Sans Souci colt on Friday, which, under Garner, ran an extra good race and won in a canter. He will probably be favorite for the rich Omnium, to be run at Maisons Lafitte next Sunday.
