WINCHESTER was shullled back soon after the start and. coming with a belated rush, got up in the final strides to dispose of GURGLING AVATER. The latter appeared sore when going to the post and showed early speed, but tired anil pulled up quite sore. BACCHANALIAN was sharply cut off at the three-eighths post and was not persevered with. SHERIDAN, slightly hampered in the first turn of the field, raced under early restraint, but moved up while going to the fifteenth fence and. passing LIEUTENANT SEAS, was going away lit the end. LIEUTENANT SEAS fenced well and showed the most speed, but gave way to the winner when challenged. FLYING FROG fenced well. JIM O. could not get up. SEA SUN was eased up when he tired. DANCING GIRL came on the outside on the stretch turn and bumped THE DECISION repeatedly in the stretch. The latter showed speed, but quit after being knocked about. The latter closed a gap with a rush and would have been second in another stride. CLAYMORE set a fast pace, but quit. KENTISH BOY could never get up.
