HANCOCK YEARLINGS SOLD Twenty-Seven Knocked Down for 5,200 Top Price for. Celt Little Flower Colt. SARATOGA, X. Y., August 13. The averages of tin- previous sale wen- not maintained Friday night at the Fasig-Tiplon mart when the consignments of A. P. Hancocks Kllerslie and Claiborne, Virginia and Kentucky studs, Charlton A. Clay and the partnership owned Hancock and Clay and those of Hancock and J. 1. Gwarthmey were offered for auction. There were thirty-four colls and fillies, sired by Celt, Wrack. P.lack Toney, Rock View, The Finn, Hilarious, Martini;!, Spanish Prince II., Jim Gatf-ney, Adam P.ede and Vandcrgrift, in the consignments and they sold for a total of 1921.sh7,100, an average or ,855.88. Honors went easily to Cell, the dead sires seven sous and daughters yielding an even 0,000. The highest priced colt of the evening was a son of Celt Little Flower, properly of .Messrs. Hancock and Gwnthmey. lie realized ,100 and was bought by James Johnston. Wrack was not far behind, nine sons ami daughters sired by him" bringing 2,500. witli the star filly of the sale, a shapely miss by Wrack Rlnziiig Star, sister to P.lazes, going to S. D. Riddle on his bid of ,700. The colt by Wrack Rahu was secured for ,000 by A. J. Goldsborough, acting for Charl-js A. Stoneham, while R. I,. Gerry paid ,700 for the colt by Wrack Anyday. The twenty-seven in Mr. Hancocks consignment realized 5,200, an average per head of ,785. Ridding was again steady and sound when likely material was offered. The market has shown healthy symptoms all during the eight sales nights. During that period many desirable youngsters were offered and bought with avidity as indicated by an expenditure of over ,000 that the sales totaled. Fridays yearling sale was the last to be held here until next Friday night when the Xalapa Farm youngsters go under the hammer. The sale of horses in training from the same establishment, takes place Monday night. Mr. Hancock expressed satisfaction with results obtained. The complete summary follows: Property of A. B.
