GREENLAND set the early pace and showed a good measure of speed, but finished in the mud next to the inner rail and tired. P. T. BARNUM ran well. AVHO CARES gained steadily. HENDRIE, as good as left, gradually worked his way up on the inside and headed BARDORA in the last stride. BARDOIIA, away slowly, came wide in the homestretch, but finished fast and gamely. IRON BOY tired. NAPOLI quit after setting the pace to tho last eighth. JACK MOUNT also quit after leading for a half mile. CORENZIO began quickly and raced into an easy lead, but tired when hard pressed by the winner. DEAONITE was outrun early, but closed up ground and was running- fast through the last eighth.
