0- FEMININE OWNERS FORM NEW STABLE SARATOGA, N. Y., Aug. 19. Next year will afford an opportunity for racegoers on Metropolitan courses to witness the debut-of new silks, carried by representatives of the "Syndicate Stable." This had its formation during the recent yearling sales, officers of the newly formed stable comprise Mrs. R. L. Gerry, Mis. F. Ambrose Clark and Bir.s. R. Penn Smith. They are putting into practice a theory of their own to race two-year-olds that have not cost more than ,000 each. Tho "Syndicate" bought nine youngsters, costing ,000 each cr less, excepting in the case of the Ileno colt, which cost an excess of 00 over the ,000. The nine youngsters have been turned over to J. Simon Ilealy, who will break them and give them a thorough try-out. Those found wanting will be sold at a public sale to be held in October. AH the youngsters retained will have names beginning with the letter "S," the seeming best one to be called "Syndicate." Those knowing the uncertainty attendant on picking the best out of a band by trials, when the youngsters are yearlings, are already speculating on whether the Syndicate does not make a mistake aiul dispose of its stars at the weeding out sale.
