Cistercian was favorite. He took an early lead, which he maintained throughout and won easily by two lengths. James Whites Pharmacie, ch. f, 3, by Charles OMalley Prescription, met her first defeat in the None Such Three-Year-Old Handicap, a five-eighths race worth ,000 to the winner. Hidden by S. Donoghue, she lost by a head to Mrs. M. Benders Grecian Beauty, ch. f, by Diadumenos Emmeline, which was in receipt of seventeen pounds from the loser.
