"Won easily; second and third driving. THIMBLE raced in a forward position from the start and, rushing into the lead in the last eighth, held FLUFF safe at the finish. FLUFF set the early pace and, after being passed, came again in the stretch and outstayed TURNABOUT. The latter raced into a clear lead on the backstretch, but tired in the last eighth. THUNDERCLAP followed the leaders under slight restraint until well into the stretch, where he closed up rapidly when called on and outstayed ROUTLHDGE in a hot finish. ROUTLEDGE, in closest nursuit from the start, made a resolute finish through the last eighth, but could not withstand the winners challenge. BEST PAL set a fast early pace and made a game, bat tiring, finish. ENFILADE raced well for a half mile. TWO FEATHERS began slowly and was forced to be pulled up slightly on the backstretch, but recovered quickly and, gradually improving his position while racing on the outside, took the lead in the last eighth and held OUR FLAG safe at the finish. OUR FLAG, under restraint in the early running, saved ground when entering the stretch and made a fast finish. BY JIMINY was much used in racing BILLY McLAUGIILIN into defeat and tired in the last eighth. BILLY MCLAUGHLIN set a fast pace, but failed to stay. BEHAVE YOURSELF was never prominent.
