"Won easily; second and third driving. THIMBLE raced in a forward position from the start and, rushing into the lead in the last eighth, held FLUFF safe at the finish. FLUFF set the early pace and, after being passed, came again in the stretch and outstayed TURNABOUT. The latter raced into a clear lead on the backstretch, but tired in the last eighth. ROUTLEDGE, in closest nursuit from the start, made a resolute finish through the last eighth, but could not withstand the winners challenge. BEST PAL set a fast early pace and made a game, bat tiring, finish. ENFILADE raced well for a half mile. OUR FLAG, under restraint in the early running, saved ground when entering the stretch and made a fast finish. BY JIMINY was much used in racing BILLY McLAUGIILIN into defeat and tired in the last eighth. BILLY MCLAUGHLIN set a fast pace, but failed to stay. BEHAVE YOURSELF was never prominent.
