KINGLIKE, away quickly, raced into a safe lead and, setting a fast pace, saved ground on all the turns, but tired and just lasted to win. SAGAMOOK. in close pursuit from the start, came fast through the homestretch and would have won in another stride. SUN TURRET ran a good race, but was tiring at the finish. BLACK BABY ran well. Won driving; second and third the same. MANDARIN forced a fast early pace and raced WAAC into defeat, but had to be hard ridden, to outstay VIOLA G. at the finish. The latter, close up in the early running, slipped through next to the inner rail on the stretch turn and was wearing the winner down at the end. WAAC tired after setting the pace to the stretch. LUCKY JOHN raced well and had no mishaps. DOROTHY CARLIN showed one .nirst of speed on the backstretch, then quit. Scratched 5G3032War Tank, 100; 5C029 Our Grace, 105. MERRIMAC passed TOM LOGAN on the backstretch into second place, but his rider was not of much use to him in the final drive. SIR JOHN VERGNE moved up on the outside while rounding the far turn, but tired and swerved to the inner rail in the stretch drive. KING TROJAN ran a poor race. TOM LOGAN quit. The latter saved ground on the turns and raced into a small lead, but was tiring jn the final strides. BILLY DUNN had no mishaps and passed "ORMA DALE in the final eighth. The latter ran a good race. Won driving; second and third the same. ESTERO began somewhat slowly and was forced to work her way up on the outside, but came through the stretch with a rush and got up to win in the last stride. MINUTE MAN set a great pace and raced SEWELL COMBS into defeat, but could not withstand the winners challenge. HILDUJi. shutlled back at the start, came through fast on the inside after entering the homestretch and outtinished EDDIE R1CKENBACIIER at the end. The latter raced forwardly all the way, but his heavy inmost told on him. SEWELL COMBS quit. CLAYMORE was never a contender. BRISK began slowly," but gained steadily and ran a capital race. TIPPO SAHIB closed a gap and, finishing with a. rush, would have won iu another stride or two. BLACKIE DAW ran well and finished close up. BUNGA BUCK set a fast pace to the last eighth and finished gamely, but tiring.
