SARATOGA ATTENDANCE BEST EVER NEW YORK. N. Y.. September 3. "Contrary to the belief of many persons the race meeting which closed Wednesday at Saratoga was the most successful ever held at the Spa from a standpoint of attendance," said Secretary A. McL. Earlocker at Belmont Park yesterday. "This statement," he added, "I can bear out by official figures. The impression that the season was below its predecessor in attendance was gained through the poor sendoff which it received. The crowds during the first few days were exceedingly light, but there was a steady increase from the third day of the meeting until the attendance reached the second largest number of paid admissions in the history of the course."
