The latter was hard xidden and took a brief lead in the last eighth, but tired in the final drive. CUM SAH began slowly, but gained steadily and finished with a belated rush through the last eighth. CRACK O DAWN ran a game race and finished close up. TIIE BOY, under restraint in the early running, failed to respond when called on for a final effort. WHISK began in a tangle. KIRTLE, oft" for-wardly, raced under slight restraint in the early running, but tired in the last quarter. MIRACLE MAN ran creditably. SAN STEFANO was repeatedly forced back in the first half. JUNE GRASS, away forwardly, raced next to the inner rail all the way and, saving ground on the last turn, took the lead in the last eighth, but tired and gave way when challenged. SEDGE set a fast pace and drew clear on the last turn, but endeavored to run out and tired in the stretch irive. AKNUSTI was in clof-c quarters to the eighth post and unable to secure a clear course.
