DOUGHNUT, racing on the outside of the leaders, moved up rapidly on tin? stretch turn and, after getting on equal terms with the leader, was taken under mild restraint. ALL OVER ran in close pursuit of FINERY and outstaved her at the end. FINERY showed the most early speed in the going, but tired near the end. MARYLAND BELLE could not improve her position. KNOBBIE, away forwardly, ran a good and game race, but tired in the linal sixteenth. BILLY KELLY was always outrun and had ho mishaps. SMOKE SCREEN finished well and outstayed GEORGIE. CARETAKER, close up throughout, finished gamely and outstayed ST. HENRY. The latter began in a tangle and closed-a big gap in the early run ning, but tired after getting into second place. YANKEE STAR began slowly and closed an immense gap. SEDGE ran well. CHAMPLAIN quit after setting si fast early pace. BUNGA BUCK raced REGISTRAR into defeat in the first half and, racing into an easy lead, won under restraint, REGISTRAR set a good pace to the backstretch, then stood a hard driAc gamely and outgamed BLUFFER at the end. The latter was aAvay slowly, but made up ground and finished fastest of all. BILLY McLAUGIILIN and TOP SERGEANT tired badly in the going. BONIFACE raced prominently for the entire race and saved ground on all the turns, but could not keep pace with the leaders through the stretch. LIGHT ROSE ran well, but tired in the last quarter.
