JOHN SANF0RD HORSES RETIRED llollie Hughes, trainer for the John Sauford establishment, reported that Chateau Thierry had pulled up somewhat lame following a morning work-out and would be shipped back to the farm at Amsterdam. N. Y. The Sauford stable, which this year sent to the races i string of thirty-four horses, will go into winter quarters with six. The remainder have been disposed of by auction and at private sale.
