McDowell mikI Einrst Pollard also present, met here today and allotted tlie following dates for spring racing tit the three tracks operated hy the Kentucky Jockey Club: LEXINGTON — Beginning Saturday. April 29, and ending Wednesday. May 10 10 days. LOUISVILLE Churchill Downs — Beginning Saturday, May 13, and ending Saturday. June 3 19 days. LATONIA. — Beginning Tuesday, June 6. and ending Saturday. July 8 29 days. This makes I total of fifty-eight days. The Ken-tuck.* Derby will be run on Saturday. May 13. The Kentucky Jockey Club was represented at the meeting l.y Messrs. .Matt J. Winn, vice-president an.l general manager, and M. I., ialvin. a member of the board of directors. The Thoroughbred Horse Association was represented by Messrs. Charles H. Uer-lyman. president; Desha Breckenridge. Hal Price Headley. Thomas Piatt, directors, and Thomas R. Cromwell, secretary. There was an understanding us to purees and it was left with general manager Winn to authorize the amounts which will be given. Manager Winn stated that lie will work out the schedule and make his announcement within a few days. The following officials were approved for the spring meeting.: Charles F. Price, steward ami handicappci : Andrew ;. Leonard. S. C. Nuckols, Jr.. and C. W. Hay. stewards; W. H. Shelley, racing secretary, placing judge and handicapper: Edward Jasper, placing judge and handicapper; N. H. McClelland, placing jodge and clerk of the scabs: Doctors J. T. Chawk and S. A. Bradley, paddock judges: James Williams, tinier: W. !•.. Phillips, patrol judge: John B. McLaughlin, supervisor, and J. J. Grant, telegraph censor. Ernest Jay Drake has purchased an Interest in Ihe splendid Broomstick horse Escoba and will start u thoroughbred nursery. He this week purchased ! ! one hundred acres of the Haggin place on the lion I Works Pike and will start his establishment at once. Commander J. K. L. Boss is the owner of a brown colt by Cudgel --Misty Morning, at Kempland Kami. Garrett Watts has booked five mures to Captain Bieckenridge Vileys feed -ire Vandcrgrift.
