♦ CHERRY TREE AGAIN SHOWS QUALITY HAVANA. Cuba. March 11. — A handicap for Cuban Derby cligibles was provided as the attraction at Oriental Park thin afternoon. It furnished a stilting coiite-i. in which Barry Pajne Whitic-ys colt Cherry Tree defeated Rebuke by a nose. The ■winner was ridden with splendid judgment by earner, who avoided the killing pace in the early stages ond followed the other- until straightened out for the final drive. Cherry Tree finished with a ru-li and in a sinew straining finish just managed to gel up in time to gain the victory by the smnlle-t of margins. Bebuke looked like the winner at the sixteenth post, but tired when the final test came. Carner put it all over the diminutive McLaughlin. King B. proved a surprise in the first race, for which Hush, with earner up. was the well -hacked lavorite. Hush was away in a tangle, while King B. got off in the front rank. The latter followed the pacmakers to the stretch, where he slipped through on the inside ami. finishing gamely, beat Lc Bala-fre by half a length. American E.-gle beat a band of cheap plater; in the seiond. a dash of five and a half furlongs. He was ridden by Bobinson and. gradually improving Ins position and coming on the inside in the stretch, wore down and passed Black Baby in the last eighth, to win going away. Doltas Best made the pace in the fourth race , and drew away into a commanding lead on the i | ba kstrctch. but tiring badly in Ihe final eighth had I i to be ridden haul at the end to withstand the rush of Avn R.. which he beat by a half length. Penman rode a well-judged race on the Clodblatt j racer Reliability in the fifth when he landed her winner by three parts of a length from Divcr-ity. I
