! i . I ; j r . f ; • t . I . — . SALE OF J. K. L. ROSS HORSES NEW YORK, N. Y., April 16.— In order to encourage racing and breeding in Canada Commander J. K. L. Ross has announced the sale of all his Canadian-bred racers and de- clares his intention not to enter any horse owned by him in purses or stakes for Cana- dian-bred racers for the ensuing five years. Commander Ross owns a large breeding es- tablishment at Vercheres, Que., and the horses reared there had become so formid- able that other Canadian breeders were dis- couraged from competing with him for na- tive-bred horses, which have lately become an important factor in Canadian racing. The Ross horses will be offered for sale in the paddock at Woodbine, Toronto, May 23.
