j ! 1 _ — a 9 STAKES FOR RENO RACING Stake blanks for the summer meeting at Reno, which will be under the auspices of the Silver State Jockey Club, directed by the popular J. P. Atkin, are being distributed among the Tijuana horsemen. The program for Reno is a liberal one. It comprises five features as follows : Carson Claiming Stakes, 50 added. Five and a half furlongs, for three-year-olds and over. American Legion Claiming Stakes, 50 added. One mile for three-year-olds and over. Silver State Handicap, ,000 added. Three-quarters mile, for three-year-olds and over. Reno Handicap, ,000 added. One and a sixteenth miles, for three-year-olds and over. Independence Handicap, ,500 added. One and a sixteenth miles, for three-year-olds and over. The Reno meeting will be opened about June 14 and continue for twenty-five days. Bight or more races will be given daily. The class of horses which will be seen in action at Reno next summer will excel those of previous years. Many of the better class stables, which have been racing at Tijuana, have engaged stable room at the Nevada track.
