Man o War is to contribute his rrvicea to the Remount Service of the United States Army by a mating with Star Fuss, a beautifully bred young mare. S. D. Riddle gives the ex-champions services, and A. B. Hancock of Claiborne the mare. Mr. Hancock will raise the foal if one is the result. The breeding lines should mix well, and the produce be notable. Star Puss mother, Star Jasmine, was a fine mare in her days. She raced for six years for Tom McDowell — from 1911 to 1916 — and won the two and a half miles Latonia Cup of 1915 in 3 :30ts under 115 pounds, in which she beat Embroidery, ninety-two pounds. In all, Star Jasmine won twenty-nine races and 1922.sh3,069. She was a half-sister to the fine Keene mare Tuss in Boots, by Peter Pan, whose son Topboot, by Amadis. is now in England training for Foxhall P. Keene.
