Rockminister was busy, but was the hardy ardy sort to stand it. He took part in seventeen races and won six of them and ,190. The colt performed a trifle below the the first grade. All his victories were for purses. ras- He failed in the big midseason stakes, but but was a second Btring to his stable chums in one or two. The East never saw Rockminister. He ran all his races on the Kentucky courses. He began early at Louisville and the shifty »i«y Rob beat him in his first race there. Rockminister then began a winning way, landed ~rt his second essay from a fair band and his his third and fourth from better ones. In all. he raced sturdily without especial early seed. Then Rockminister got after better things. In the Harold Stakes at Latonia John Finn just lasted to beat him and in the Cincinnati Trophy, which Miss Joy won and Fair Phantom ran third. Bonus divided them and and Rockminister was fourth— and coming. Then -™ the smart Bet Mosie beat him for speed and and weight and Jeanne Bov.dre and Lina Clark were too fast for him at Latonia. Soon mn after Rockminister won a fine race at La- ?°n tonia. Pegasus, his stable companion, was second, within safe hail, and the keen S Martha Fallon, favorite, was third. Followed a rather poor Latonia effort behind Braedal-bane 2d and Billy Brush— no slouches just then .en.
