ANOTHEE THE BUTLER BILL NEW ORLEANS La May 18 The But ¬ ler bill designed to kill racing in Louisiana and introduced Into the upper house this morning is unique for its conciseness In its entirety it reads readsTo To provide that it shall be unlawful to make offer to make or receive wagers or bets in any form or manner upon the out ¬ come of an advertised or scheduled horse race run within or without tho State of Louisiana and fixing a penalty penaltySection Section 1 Be it enacted by the ligisla ture of Louisiana that whoever shall either orally In writing or by any machine or da vice make or offer to make or receive a wager or bet in any form or manner or in any value or representation of value upon the outcome or result of any advertised or scheduled horse race run within or without tho State of Louisiana shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction for each offense shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than fifty 5000 dollars nor more than two thousand 2000 dollars and be imprisoned in tho parish jail for a period not to exceed six months monthsSection Section 2 That all laws or part of laws contrary to or in conflict with this act bo and they are hereby repealed
