LATEST LEXINGTON GOSSIP LEXINGTON Ky May 29 John Goode Jack Baker J C Milam John I Smith S Nichols and John O Whitlow were among the local horsemen who returned here from Louisville to spend Sunday and to a have a look at horses in which they are interested here they being principally yearlings that are to be taken up at the close of the Ken ¬ tucky season at Latonia on July 8 8Colonel Colonel Bob Baker who has been resting up at a watering place in Indiana returned home Saturday and left tonight for Omaha Neb to attend the AkSarBen Exposition Companys race meeting which is to open June 3 Colonel Baker has three horses Manicure Mildred and Judge Budrow which were shipped from Cuba to rest up upB B B Jones came from Louisville and went over to Paris Sunday afternoon to see the yearlings at Arthur B Hancocks Claiborne Stud W Perkins and William Walker saw the yearlings at Claiborne and Xalapa Farm Sunday morning morningColonel Colonel E R Bradley spent Sunday at his Idle Hour Stock Farm The horses in the Bradley string have been experiencing the annoyances and setbacks from laryngitis Manager Barry Shannon of the Idle Hour Farm Is leaving this week for a business trip to New York and of course he will see some of the racing at Belmont Park ParkGeorge George F Baker Dayton Ohio who has John Finn and other horses in Will Perkins string spent Sunday afternoon here looking at horses in which he is interested interestedRobert Robert C Frakes wcllrknown local turf ¬ man is ill at the Good Samaritan Hospital having undergone yesterday an operation for appendicitis
