June 21. — Benjamin Blocks crack three-year old Morvich displayed N a business-like mile and an eighth trial over the Latonia track this morning, witnessed n by an interesting crowd of owners, trainers and stable attaches. The celt did not show j the stubbornness of the previous clay and went about his task in smooth and frictionless F style, excepting when he began. He got into motion awkwardly, and it took him about twenty yards before he settled in his full stride. R A times during the trial he seemed to be only half extended, but he was traveling I at a rapid pace, fur faster than his trainer desired, who was compeletl to signal the g rider to slow him down in the stretch. The entire last eighth of the gallop found Morvich P sinii ly in a canter, and he was almost eased up to a standstill when completing the mile , and an eighth. Morvichs time by fractions was: Eighth in 11*5, quarter in 23%, three-eighths in 35, half in 47%, five eighths in 1:00. three quarters in 1:13, seven-eighths in 1 :2G"-„ mile in 1:40, and mile and an eighth in 1:51. The celt finished the journey quite fre.rh. showing not the slightest traces of distress. Owner Block was enthusiastic. "You can say," said he, turning to a group of newspaper men who had also viewed she trial, "that I feel confident of Morvich being the victor next Saturday. I am even more anguine of the result than I was before the Kentucky Derby."
