HALT SARATOGA TRAINING Eains of Sunday and Yesterday Considerably Curtail Conditioning of Horses at Famous Spa. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., July 24. Training operations here were curtailed considerably today, due to a change in track conditions over both the main and Oklahoma training tracks. A drizzling rain lasted all day Sunday and when it ceased the temperature took quite a drop. A hard rain sot in just after noon today and it will be midweek before the going is fast again. The main course was not deep in mud this morning, but few trainers gave their horses anything but exercise gallops over it. There was a let-up in the arrivals of stables from New York tracks, but a number are expected within the next forty-eight hours. Harry Pelz, who has charge of the stall assignments there, departed for the metropolis to confer with horsemen regarding their actual needs in every respect, as stable room will be at a premium. Hal Price Ileadley, well-known Kentucky breeder, stopped off here for a visit with Frederick Johnson. Headley just returned from a trip to Bermuda. He went from here to Windsor, Ont. Mose Goldolatt came up from New York and arranged with jockey Mack Garner for his services on Dr. Clark in a stake at Empire City on next Saturday. The Cincinnati turfman remained only a few hours. Phil T. Chinn was among the arrivals from New York. His Hymir Stud yearlings will be sent here within the near future. Pat Knebelkamp came in by motor from Kentucky. His horses are resting for the summer. Jockey Clarence Kummer joined the riding colony here yesterday. As a tribute to several of the most widely known thoroughbreds of recent years, as well as the present time, the Saratoga Racing Association has named the streets leading through the Oklahoma track after them. They include Man o War avenue, Roamer place, Pillory avenue, Good and Plenty avenue, Morvich avenue, Whiskaway avenue, Camp Fire Court, Elm Court and Exterminator avenue. Signs have been placed in position showing the location of these streets. Track superintendent William Clare announced today that he will open the jumping course on the main track for schooling on Thursday.
