BESSIE LEIGHTON, off forwardly, raced under slight restraint until on the stretch turn, from where she gained steadily and, easily passing PETER BROWN, won going away. PETER BROWN set a fast pace to the stretch, but tired badly in the last eighth. DUCKS AND DRAKES ran well and, finishing fast, outgamed ROSEATE II. The latter had no mishap. LOUISE GROODi was jumped on and badly cut dorm behind. MATINEE IDOI. steadily worked his way up and passed the others in the stretch, but oculd not overtake the winner. SHAFFER raced prominently all the way and cut finished ZEALOT. ARARAT was flat footed at the start, bnt finished with a rush, and would have been third in another stride. BILLY WATTS met with early interference and came fast when clear. WEI.LFINDKR could not improve his position. ELECTED II. and EAST VIEW tired badly.
