MAX HIRSCH HORSES BRING GOOD PRICES SARATOGA, N. Y.. August 5. Excellent prices were obtained for the horses in training sold by Max Hirsch in the paddock before the races. The sale was conducted by the Fasig-Tip-ton Company and George Bain, who officiated as auctioneer, realized 3,900 for the six that were offered, an average of ,650. The best price paid was 2,500, at which figure T. J. Pendergast took the two-year-old Bo McMillan, a handsome chestnut son of Ballot and Nettie Hastings. Flying Cloud, four-year-old son of Wrack and Robinetta, brought the second best price when he went to the Rancocas Stable for 0,000. P. Coyne paid ,100 for New Hampshire, two-year-old son of Granite and Annagh. J. L. Holland took Gladiator for ,500. Long Island, a three-year-old son of Friar Rock and Smooth Bore, went to M. F. Shapoof for ,300, and Long Boat, a two-year-old son of Wrack and Marathon IL, was knocked down to Stephen Pettit for 00.
