The D. and C." has an added value of ,500 and as usual is for all ages at three-quarters of a mile. This race has invariably invoked the liveliest interest of Detroit, Cleveland and Buffalo turf devotees and it is the aim of the Windsor Jockey Club officials to attract the swiftest sprinters in training for the 1922 renewal. The Essex Purse, with ,500 added, at a mile and a sixteenth, is another feature of the D. and C. day card. The Waterloo Handicap, with ,C00 added, for three-year-olds and over foaled in Canada, at three-quarters mile, and the Wolverine Purse, with ,500 added, for three-year-olds and over, will be the outstanding races on the program for Wednesday, August 23. Two of these features are at a mile and a sixteenth while the other is at three-quarters of a mile. There will be quite as many excellent thoroughbreds at the meeting here this month as there were at the Windsor Jockey Club meeting in July. The Kentucky contingent will be in the thick of the contention as all of the owners who shipped here last month will not return to the Blue Grass state until September, while many will continue to race their charges to the conclusion of the Canadian circuit season. All of the horses having stake engagements at Fort Erie will return here for the rich over-night purses and handicaps.
