BOOKMAKERS AUTHORIZED . BERLIN, Germany, August 18. The reichsrath has at length fixed the text of the German betting act. In addition to the totalizator this act recognizes and authorises bookmakers. Each bookmaker must deposit a personal guarantee of from 50,000 to 300.-000 marks, and others of from 5,000 to 30,000 marks for each of his clerks.
