TEN PROMISING YEARLINGS MONTREAL, Que., September 8. B. L. Cole, who recently returned from a visit to C. L. Whitings farm at Avon, N. Y., reports that the latter has ten fine-looking yearlings at his place by various sires. There are also fifteen sucklings, all by the Reck Sand stallion Half Rock. There are twenty-five brood mares on the place, one a half-sister to Morvich. Another is Mizzel, the dam of the Cuban Derby winner Herron, and another the imported Irish mare Stone-chaser, which raced for M. L. Schwartz. The yearlings are being broken and are destined for a winter campaign at New Orleans. , ! , . 1
