Won easily; second and third driving. POOR SPORT set a good pace from soon after the start and, drawing far away, won in a canter. RKTTY WOOD raced close up all the way and, finishing fast, outstayed LELOBA. The latter began in a tangle, but gradually improved her position and would have been second in a few more strides. POOR PUSS closed a gap and finished close up. PIEGAN showed speed, but tired badly in the last eighth. POOR PUSS crossed before BARGAIN in the stretch and the latter was almost thrown. MISS STAR set a fast early pace, but could not withstand the winners challenge. WILLIAM TELL steadily improved his position under hard riding and outfinished COEUR DE LION in the final drive. COEUR DE LION was off well and hard ridden for the entire race. MARK TWAIN and DREAM MAKER were eased up in the last eighth. CHESTERBROOK followed the leader under restraint until well around the turn, then moved up menacingly, but could not overhaul the winner. BIT O BLACK was always prominent and well ridden and had no mishaps. JUNE GRASS began very slowly and moved up rapidly in the first quarter, but quit badly when called on for a final effort after entering the stretch. VALENTIA Was a prominent contender all the way and. finishing gamely, outstayed SLEIVECONARD. The latter met with repeated interference in the firs half, but closed up fast through the stretch and ran a good race. KELLERMAN came fast at the eighth post, but tired finally.
